About Affiliating University

KBWC got the affiliation from Assam University, Silchar to start a Degree College with Arts stream. It was a proud privilege received by the college at its nascent stage.

The prestigious Assam University came into existence through Assam (Central) University Act, 1989 (Established under an Act of Parliament). It was established in 1994, since then the University is steadily becoming an excellent centre of learning drawing aspirants from all across the country.

The campus, situated in Dargakona is about 20 kms from Silchar. It is set amid sprawling hillocks and mesmerising landscape,a typical feature of the Northeastern region. The campus is spread in an area of 600 acres surrounded by lakes and mountains providing an ideal environment for academic pursuit.

More than 300 faculty members are indulged in the teaching and learning process in the various disciplines and departments. The university practices a multidisciplinary approach to higher education.

The University has Sixteen Schools on major disciplines. There are Thirty Five Departments under these Sixteen Schools.
